The most popular messaging app, WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature of fingerprint sensor that will show you to unlock the App with your fingertips as you do with your Android device. The fingerprint scanner will work on Android Beta version 2.19.221. This feature has been made available in India as well.
The report source, WABetainfo states that users will have to update their WhatsApp if they don’t find the future readily. It will only be activated on your device if you haven’t signed up or aren’t using the WhatsApp Android Beta app. The feature can be enabled by doing the following :
WhatsApp Settings>Account>Privacy>Fingerprint lock.
You will be required to turn on the toggle in front of the menu and it will ask you to verify it. With this feature enabled, can unlock the app whenever you open and the screen guard popup. Moreover, you can answer the WhatsApp calls without unlocking the app. Replying to WhatsApp messages from the notification is still available without any screen lock interruption.
The news came up with a tweet from the source which mentioned the post revelation with high exhilaration and energy. The feature will provide a higher range of options on how you manually wish the set to function. Users will have control over when they want to use the fingerprint unlock feature. If one is required to unlock the message, ugh fingerprint every time they need to reply to a message, then they can get annoyed easily. So you can choose from three options —Immediately, after 1 minute or after 30 minutes. If you choose “Immediately”, you will have to unlock the app every time you open it. iOS, users will also have an additional option of 15 minutes. Also, users can set if they want the message notifications on the bar or not.
The report further informs that Whatsapp is recently working on the dark mode which is expected to be released on the beta version in the coming three months.
